United Way of Summit County announces new vice president of Major Gifts

United Way of Summit County welcomes Sarah McBryer to the position of vice president of Major Gifts. In her new role, Sarah will cultivate and steward relationships to help United Way of Summit County support its mission through individual major gifts. Her duties include soliciting major donors to provide improved retention, acquisition and growth. She will also serve as the key staff liaison to United Way’s Tocqueville Society.

McBryer has more than 10 years of experience in donor relations and business development. Most recently, she was an executive search consultant for Ratliff & Taylor in Cleveland where she sourced candidates for retained executive searches. Prior to that, she served as director of stewardship & donor relations for Summa Foundation. For seven years, McBryer was director of new business & membership development for Portage Country Club.

McBryer holds a bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Kent State University. She is a member of Kiwanis Club of Akron and a member of the board of directors for Medina Society for Human Resource Management. In 2012 she received the Distinguished Sales and Marketing Award through Sales and Marketing Executives International Akron.
