United Way of Summit & Medina will put on the first Summit Beerfest on Nov. 5. The event, which was rescheduled from an earlier date, will bring together 22 local and regional breweries to showcase their finest brews in the hopes of winning the “Best On Tap” trophy. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste beers from the participating breweries and vote for their favorite to win the award.
Summit Beerfest will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and is hosted by Springside Athletic Club at 215 Springside Drive, Akron. The event will feature live rock music by Cleveland’s Breakfast Club. Tickets, which include vouchers for food and samples of 15 beers (as well as a drink-free option for designated drivers), are on sale now at uwsummitmedina.org.
Proceeds from Summit Beerfest will support United Way of Summit & Medina. The local nonprofit works to advance education, financial stability and health in Summit and Medina counties. Through its Bold Goals by 2028, United Way is working to boost child literacy, expand youth success, financially empower local residents and advance health equity.
“We’re thrilled to invite our community to join us, see what Ohio’s breweries have to offer, and help us crown the best one,” said Malorie Kormos, associate vice president of major gifts and community engagement for United Way of Summit & Medina. “And we are grateful to Springside Athletic Club for choosing to host the first Summit Beerfest. It’s going to be an incredibly fun event with great beers, delicious food and live music, and the money we raise will help United Way provide services to help residents in our community build lasting success.”
Tickets purchased prior the reschedule are valid for the new Nov. 5 date. If you are unable to attend on the new scheduled date, please contact Darion Karam at [email protected] for a refund. Tickets may be purchased here.
