At United Way of Summit & Medina we work to ensure that every dollar we receive is leveraged for maximum possible impact. The donations we generate, the benefits to our clients, and the funding our partnerprograms receive all stay in Summit and Medina counties. As we continue to invest in the future of our community and deliver measurable results on our Bold Goals, we also continue to be good stewards of donor dollars.
In 2021, our return on investment (ROI) was $11 to 1 with an overall community impact of $50.8 million. Those dollars are helping to revitalize our area through direct service programs and partner program leverage, and far exceed our non-programmatic costs.
Thanks to the generous gifts from individuals, corporations, and grants from foundations and the government we can operate programs like 211 which helped answer 70,000 calls for help last year. Or our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program which helped residents claim more than $3 million in tax refunds since the program began. And Summit County Cares where we distributed $25 million in rent and utility assistance across our community.
With that $11 to 1 ROI we’re building a system where we put clients at the center and break down barriers they’re facing when looking help. We’re walking side-by-side with them and generating lasting solutions for those who need us the most. And we’re working to push our ROI even higher creating even more impactful, positive change in our community, with our community, for our community.
