United Way of Summit & Medina merges with Heart to Heart Leadership

Jun 3, 2024

United Way of Summit & Medina today announced that it had merged with Heart to Heart Leadership, effective on June 1, 2024. As previously announced, the merger has resulted in the creation of the Center for Immersive Leadership, an initiative of United Way.

The Center for Immersive Leadership (CIL) seeks to develop inclusive leaders who achieve collective goals for transformational change with our communities. The CIL combines the strengths of United Way’s trainings and workshops focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, Heart to Heart’s existing programming, and new offerings to be developed going forward. Visit immersiveleadership.org for more information, with future updates coming soon.

Heading the CIL will be Jeremy Lile, former executive director of Heart to Heart, now chief leadership and learning officer for United Way of Summit & Medina. For over 20 years, Lile has coached thousands of individuals and teams to live out their core values. Through his experience in nonprofit leadership and pastoral ministry, Jeremy has spoken at retreats and events, facilitated numerous group trainings and organized community engagement.

“I am excited to join United Way of Summit & Medina in bringing about transformational change in our region,” said Lile. “While we build for the future of the Center for Immersive Leadership in the coming months, we will continue to offer the programs thousands of people have come to value from United Way and Heart to Heart. We look forward to advancing current partnerships and forging new ones to develop even more leaders.”

As part of the merger agreement, United Way of Summit & Medina will create an advisory committee comprised of some United Way board members and some former Heart to Heart Leadership board members. In addition, the Center for Immersive Leadership will have as many as five seats on the United Way board and one seat on the executive committee.

“One of the greatest investments we can make in the future of our community is in cultivating passionate and purpose-driven leaders,” said Jim Mullen, president and CEO of United Way of Summit & Medina. “We look forward to working with the current and future leaders of Summit and Medina counties to help them find ways to develop their talents and put them to use serving their communities.”

In our community. With our community. For our community.
