On Saturday, November 5, United Way of Summit & Medina presented the first Summit Beerfest. Hosted by Springside Athletic Club, the event saw more than 300 guests come together to enjoy food and beer from local and regional restaurants and breweries. Local cover band Cleveland’s Breakfast Club provided live entertainment. Proceeds from the event support United Way of Summit & Medina.
Beers from 19 breweries were on tap, and visitors had the chance to vote for their favorite brewery. At the end of the day, Hoppy Dude Brews of Hinckley, Ohio, was crowned the winner, taking home the 6-foot Best On Tap trophy.
Participating breweries were Aeonian Brewing Co, Akronym Brewing, Broadview Brewing Company, Crooked Pecker Brewing Company, Double Wing Brewing Co., Forest City Brewery, Hard Mule Seltzer Co., Hoppin’ Frog Brewery, Hoppy Dude Brews, Ignite Brewing Company, Lock 15 Brewing Company, McArthur’s Brew House, Missing Mountain Brewing Co., Muskellunge Brewing Company, Ohio Brewing Company, R. Shea Brewing, Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, UnHitched Brewing Co. and Wrecking Crew Brew Works.

Proceeds from Summit Beerfest will fund United Way’s direct services to area residents – including 211, Imagination Library, free financial coaching and more. United Way of Summit & Medina is working to achieve its Bold Goals by 2028 by boosting child literacy and youth success, financially empowering local residents and eliminating racial disparities in infant and maternal health. And through an easy-to-navigate ecosystem of supportive services, United Way of Summit & Medina is breaking down the barriers that keep people from getting help.
