United Way of Summit & Medina today announced the release of its new engagement calendar for 2022. Available online at uwsummit.org/volunteer, the calendar lists more than a dozen volunteer and fundraising events taking place throughout Summit and Medina counties.
While the COVID-19 pandemic led to the postponement or downscaling of many United Way events, 2022 marks a return to regular opportunities for engagement. United Way’s Day of Action, last held in 2019, will return on June 17. The organization’s Bold Glow evening golf event, which will raise funds for United Way’s financial empowerment initiatives, will take place on May 13.
“There’s so many ways to be involved with United Way,” said Malorie Kormos, associate vice president of major gifts and engagement for United Way of Summit & Medina. “Whether you prefer to roll up your sleeves and get to work on the Stuff the Bus school supplies drive or enjoy a delicious meal at our Taste of Medina County celebration, there’s a way for you to support your community through United Way in 2022.”
United Way’s volunteer events are designed to accommodate individual volunteers and corporate groups. Studies show that businesses that encourage their employees to participate in volunteer activities enjoy the benefits of improved employee job satisfaction and performance, as well as increased recruitment and retention.
“Our community is fortunate to have so many residents that are willing to devote their time and their energy to build a better future,” said Jim Mullen, president and CEO of United Way of Summit & Medina. “We look forward to working with those groups and individuals throughout the year ahead.”
